How are Igneous Rocks Formed Short Answer

Rocks are basically of three types. Each type is formed in a different way. One group known as igneous rocks are born in fire. Hot molten material from inside the earth forms a liquid called magma. The magma, sometimes, bursts out on to the surface of the earth as hot lava or it may solidify below the earth’s surface. Either way, the once fiery hot material cools and solidifies into mineral crystals and these gradually bind together to form a rock. The extrusive igneous rocks form when hot lava cools quickly on the surface of the earth. Intrusive igneous rocks form when it cools slowly underground.
