Are The Sea Levels Rising? – Short Answer
Because of the global warming due to the greenhouse effect, it is quite possible that glaciers and ice sheets are melting. It would be like an ice age working in opposite way. The water now locked up as ice would fill the oceans, raising the sea level worldwide, possibly by as much as 70 metres. Many low-lying areas of the world, such as Bangladesh or Florida, or the island nations of the Pacific, such as Kiribati and Tuvalu, would be almost completely submerged under water.
